Florence Marie Sims Goddard

	Florence Marie Sims Goddard, 92, died December 8, 2000 in Phoenix, Ariz. of congestive heart failure.  
	She was born on a flower farm in Tamaroa on September 16, 1908 and grew up in DuQuoin.  She graduated from DuQuoin Township High School in 1926 and attended Bernau Womens College in Gainesville, Georgia.
	 She was the daughter of Horace R. and Birdie Haines Sims, long-time owners of Sims Motor Company.  She married Ben G. Goddard who also graduated from DuQuoin Township High School and was a member of the class of 1925.  Ben G. Goddards parents were Ben B. and Stella Goddard of DuQuoin.
	Florence was creative; writing was her passion.  Poetry was her delight.
	She made her home in Illinois, Kansas City and Phoenix.  
	She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben G. Goddard, and grandsons, Michael and Ronald.  Children, Ben of Brazoria, Tex. Ron of Overland Park, Kan. and Barbara Eslinger of Phoenix, Ariz.. survive her.  She had six grandsons, three great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons and three step-great-grandchildren.
	 A memorial service was held at a later date.  A graveside service in Kansas City was pending.
